Table of Confederate currency
Tables of Confederate Currency showing denominations, dates of issue, titles, colors, design, specimens in Dr. Emmet's collection, and remarks. The tables, published in volume 2 of the American Journal of Numismatics, were provided by Dr. Thos. Addis Emmet. "Dr. Emmet's extensive collection of Confederate notes, more extensive probably than any other in existence, and his abundant knowledge of the subject, have formed the basis, or rather the entire material, of the information which we have simply attempted to tabulate with clearness." (May, 1967, page 11) The tables were published in three parts: Table number 1, in volume II, number 1 (May, 1967), Table number 2 in volume II, number 3 (July, 1867), and Table number 3 in volume II, number 4 (August, 1867). Table 3 is followed by a closing statement: "In concluding our Tabulation of Confederate Money, it is needless to insist on its importance. The three Tables which we have furnished contain the frame-work, and much of the material, of a whole Treatise on the subject.", These articles were digitized from the original journal issues in the University of Missouri collections, rather than from the photocopies enclosed with the collection.
