In January 1990 the Ocean Carrier Maersk took delivery of 60 5 pack Maxi-Stack I double stack container cars. Maxi-Stack I is the best international double stack container car with a capacity of 124,600 lbs per well and a light weight per car of 177,100 lbs, Each double stack container car has the capability to load 2 20' or 1 40' container in the wells of all 5 units and load containers from 40' X 96' to 48' X 102" on top. The railcars are in series MAEX 100000 to MAEX 100059 and are painted Maersk blue.
