Southern Pacific RR loading APL Test Double Stack Train 1983
Description
SPRR loading test double stack container train for APL 1983. SPRR provides ACF double stack container cars built in 1981 for its contract with Sea-Land. In addition one Budd Low Pack 2000 IBC type stack car. Later when APL ordered cars from Thrall Car the design was licensed from Budd.
ACF was bought by Carl Icahn and he shut down the St. Louis plant that build the original SPRR double stack container cars.
