Southern Pacific RR loading APL Test Double Stack Train 1983

Description

Southern Pacific RR loading APL test train at Valla (LA) using SPRR bulkhead double stack container cars manufactured by ACF in St. Louis and one Budd Low Pack 2000 IBC type car. Routing was SPRR to Kansas City then BN to Chicago. When APL decided to buy its own double stack container cars, Budd licensed Thrall car of Chicago Heights, Illinois to build its cars.
