Three columns of printed negative strips with images from Inaugural Ceremonies for the Liberian President. Image descriptions from top to bottom, left to right. Image 1-2: Various images of an event, possibly involving the dedication of a building. Two men wearing tuxedos with ornate cuffs and patterned aprons are standing in front of a model building on a flat surface propped up by four folding chairs. Both men are holding metal cups and are poring rocks and liquid onto the top of the building. The men are holding booklets as well and reading as they pour. Several men wearing similar tuxedoes are standing in back and two men are holding white poles over the men pouring from the metal cups. Everyone is also wearing large ceremonial necklaces. Image 3: Four men standing in front of model building on a flat surface propped up by four folding chairs. The men are wearing tuxedos and ceremonial chains. There are people sitting in back observing the ceremony. A man on the right is holding a large white pole used in the ceremony. Image 4 & 5: A large group of people observing a ceremony. The audience is standing on the main floor and balcony of a building watching a group of men in tuxedoes and uniforms at the other end of the building. Image 5 is angled and underexposed. Image 6: Young men carrying large planks of wood from the entrance of a building. The building is surrounded by debris and the there is scaffolding on the interior. A large metal sign hangs in the entrance displaying the Liberian State Seal and the words: "Republic of Liberia / The love of liberty brought us here." Image 7: An official wearing a tuxedo and top hat standing in front of a building surrounded by workers and debris. The men are clearing away debris and wooden planks. There is wooden scaffolding in the interior of the building. A large metal sign hangs in the entrance displaying the Liberian State Seal and the words: "Republic of Liberia / The love of liberty brought us here." Image 8: Workers standing around a building surrounded by debris. They are clearing away the debris and wooden planks from scaffolding on the inside.
