Three columns of printed negative strips. Image descriptions from top to bottom, left to right. Image 1: Rocks and dirt carried along a metal chute to a processing facility. The chute comes out of a tunnel underneath a rail line on a hill. Several cars filled with rocks are on the rail line. Image 2 & 3: Various images of men cleaning a monument to Liberia's first president, Joseph Jenkins Roberts. One man is standing on a ladder and reaching for the upper portion of the monument. The other men are cleaning the base. The monument is in a plaza between several buildings. Image 4 & 5: Various images of an obelisk monument with an unknown dedication surrounded by buildings under construction or being remodeled. Two men are standing next to wooden scaffolding in front of the monument. One of the men is a soldier carrying a rifle. The building behind the monument is also covered with wooden scaffolding. Image 6: A large crate in front of an obelisk monument with an unknown dedication. The crate has a stenciled label that reads "CWM 2409 / 1601 / Monrovia / Made in Germany." Image 7-10: Various images of an obelisk monument with an unknown dedication surrounded by buildings under construction or being remodeled. A solider is walking in front of the monument, holding a rifle and wearing a beret. Image 11 & 12: Various images of construction equipment on an unpaved road. The Vehicle has large plows pushing dirt across the road. People are standing behind the vehicle as it moves forward.
