Ceremonies marking construction of St. Louis County's tallest office building, the Clayton Inn Center, were held Monday. Owner-architect Bernard F. McMahon and the Clayton Inn Corp. are builders of the 24-story structure at 7777 Bonhomme ave., Clayton. The first eight floors will be garage space and there will be one floor for service.

Where the reed spring comes forth from the side of a hill - it forms a sort of pond in a basin on the side of a hill before it flows of through a trough to the old mill. Water cress grows along the edges of the pond which is stocked with fish.

Replica Serpentine Wall
"A Serpentine Wall, a replica of that of the University of Virginia and designed by Thomas Jefferson, is inspected by visitors to the "Saga of the Meramec." The wall is one brick thick, with the arcs designed to give it both strength and flexibility."

The Roosevelt Federal Savings & Loan Building off U.S. 40 at Olive Boulevard in Chesterfield is a formidable addition to the West St. Louis County skyline. The six-story headquarters building is being constructed at a cost of $7.1 million.
