The future may bring office buildings into this residential area in Brentwood. City officials are considering rezoning 22 residential properties on the east side of Collier Avenue to open the area to commercial development. Properties pictured on the right side of the top photo on the left side of the bottom photo may be rezoned for commercial use.

Concordia Seminary Log Cabin

Construction of a Dam and Lake
"A highlight exhibit at "The Saga of the Meramec." conservation panorama presented by the Globe-Democrat and the Friends of the Land at Gray Summit, Mo., is the actual construction of a dam and lake. Afternoon visitors today and tomorrow will see this bulldozer at wok on the job in the Missouri Botanical (Shaw's) Garden Arboretum."

Contruction Accident

"Travel rose to its apparent annual peak as the four-day Thanksgiving weekend wound down to a final crush here Sunday. Although final figures aren't available, bus travel from St. Louis was up as much as 60 percent, train travel nearly 50 percent and air travel about 40 percent compared to a typical day, spokesman estimated. Spokesmen for Amtrak, Greyhound and Lambert St. Louis International Airport said they believe the Thanksgiving weekend, as it usually is, was the busiest travel weekend of the year...Corvonne Logan waits in the Amtrak station downtown for her ride home. She returned from Kansas City."

Country Creek-Springwood Damage
Residents of the Country Creek-Springwood subdivision in Ballwin are worried that neither the subdivision developer nor the city will assume responsibility for damage to a concrete drainage system. Heavy rains two weeks ago caused a sudden rush of storm water that tossed the concrete slabs out of position. The city has already told the residents it will not assume responsibility for the damage. Crime Scene of Assault in Clayton, MO
Photograph of a parking garage where a 23-year-old St. Louis man was charged with sexually assaulting a Clayton office worker. He has been allowed to continue on probation after pleading guilty to a felony committed while on probation for an earlier crime. Michael M. Meeks was arrested Monday after burglarising and assaulting a woman in her apartment before he attacked the office worker. The office worker was accosted as she left an underground parking garage one block north of the County Government Center. Both victims identified Meeks.
