She was in Spain during the civil war and has recently returned from Russia and Finland. The new Miss Ballwin, Joyce Nichols, 17, was crowned Miss Ballwin 1979 during Ballwin Days last weekend. The Senior at Lafayette High School is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Nichols, 567 Spragues Mill Court. Participants in the Miss Ballwin contest were judged on appearance and poise. Melodee Hinkle was Miss Ballwin in 1978.
