Contestant 9, Melanie Derr, wears pink, white and purple square-necked swimsuit of which the stripes outline the neckline and the bodice is a raspberry color, a gold chain necklace, and a ring during the Miss Boating 1981 contest. To her left, contestant 22 wears a black, one-piece swimsuit with one spaghetti strap attached to the center of the bodice, black and white horizontal stripes across the bodice, and black pumps. Farthest to the right, contestant 17, Sandi Byrd, wears a red, one-piece, v-neck swimsuit with a bow over the left hip, earrings, a necklace, a wrist watch, and clear plastic shoes with red bows over the toes. They hold their contestant number cards mid-waist in their right hands. Silver lamé drapes are behind her. This photograph was taken at the Patricia Stevens studio.
