Silver lamé drapes are behind contestants 7, 8, 9 (Melanie Derr), and 10 as they wear one-piece swimsuits during the Miss Boating 1981 contest. They hold their contestant number cards in their right hands. Contestant 7 wears a strapless swimsuit with teal side-panels and floral center and a gold chain necklace. To her left, contestant 8 wears a shiny steel blue, scoop-neck swimsuit. To her left, contestant 9, Melanie Derr, wears a pink, white and purple square-necked swimsuit of which the stripes outline the neckline and the bodice is a raspberry color, a gold chain necklace, and a ring. Farthest to the right, contestant 10 wears a powder blue, v-neck swimsuit with a string belt around the waistline, gold earrings, a gold chain necklace, and black open-toed shoes.
