All of the contestants, approximately 40, stand on stage wearing evening gowns during the Miss Kansas U.S.A. 1983 Beauty Pageant. A lighted stage decoration hangs behind them with a white circle of lights around the letters "USA" and an eagle in red, white, and blue glitter.
