The model to the right stands behind the armchair with her left hand resting on the back of the chair as she looks down at the same piece of paper. She wears a dark beret and a leather-look car-length coat with buttons or snaps down the sides and front of the coat and outer sleeves. There is a small side table by the armchair with a candlestick with a candle and a teacup and saucer sitting on the table top. Framed classic paintings hang on the walls.
