Miss Boating 1976 Queen, Kathy Denton, closes her eyes as an unidentified man places a tiara on her head during the K.C. Boat, Travel and Sports Show which was held in the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri. She wears a black one-piece swimsuit and black pumps. She holds a bouquet in her left arm and her contestant card (34) in her right hand. The man peeks out from under his left arm that is reached above his head with his right hand to place the tiara on Kathy's head. He wears burnt orange pants and a plaid jacket. The stern of a small yellow sailboat is visible behind them.
