Description

Miss Boating 1976 contestants 1 through ten stand on stage in front of a small yellow sailboat during the K.C. Boat, Travel and Sports Show which was held in the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri. A red, white, and blue water ski is leaning against the wall farthest to the left. To the left of the ski, African American contestant 1 wears a pink one-piece swimsuit with side cutouts and red sandals. She holds her contestant card in her left hand by her left thigh. To her left, contestant 2 wears a white one-piece swimsuit with a green, purple, blue, and pink floral pattern and a skirt bottom. She holds her contestant card in her right hand by her right thigh. To her left, African American contestant 3 wears a slate blue and white gingham print two-piece swimsuit that has a skirt that extends from the bodice to her thighs and has a slit cut to the bottom left of the bodice with a white bow at the top of the slit to reveal matching bottoms. She also wears white sandals. She holds her contestant card in her left hand by her left thigh. To her left, contestant 4 wears a yellow one-piece swimsuit and brown sandals with block heels. She holds her contestant card in her left hand by her left hip. To her left, African American contestant 5 wears a green, yellow and pink one-piece swimsuit and red open-toed heels. She holds her contestant card in her right hand by her right thigh. To her left, contestant 6 wears a purple velveteen one-piece swimsuit that laces up the center front and has side cutouts and purple open-toed shoes. She holds her contestant card in her right hand by her right hip. To her left, contestant 7 wears a black one-piece swimsuit with pink roses and green leaves and white pumps. She holds her contestant card in her left hand by her left hip. To her left, contestant 8 wears a green and blue swirl design one-piece swimsuit with white pumps. She holds her contestant card in her left hand by her left hip. To her left, contestant 9 wears a one piece swimsuit that is aqua on the top, teal on the bottom, and has black around the waist and down her back. She holds her contestant card in her right hand in the center of her body. Farthest to the right, contestant 10 (Tina Marrs) wears a one-piece swimsuit of orange, red, pink and purple panels that run diagonally to form a "V" in the center her body and taupe heels.
