Description
Six contestants stand in front of gold drapes wearing evening gowns during the Miss Independence Princess Pageant at Truman High School in Independence, Missouri. Farthest to the left, the contestant wears a navy blue, long-sleeved, empire waist evening gown with white lace across the chest and up to ruffle about her chin gathered by a blue collar over the lace. A stripe of lace is on each sleeve from just above the elbow to the wrist. To her left, the contestant wears a crown, a corsage of a white carnation and some greenery, a navy blue empire waist evening gown with spaghetti straps and large leaves printed on the dress of red, blue white, yellow and green. Lapels overlay the top of the bodice. To her left, the contestant wears a crown, a corsage of a white carnation, and a brown evening gown with a lace jacket that ends just under the bodice of the dress and has long, bell sleeves. To her left, the contestant wears a crown and a red evening gown with spaghetti straps and red feathers across the top of the bodice. To her left, the contestant is wearing a sky-blue evening gown with a sequined inset waistband and a sweet heart neckline as well as a crown. To her left, Marsia Kolich, also a runner up, wears a crown and a light blue slip-type evening gown with spaghetti straps and a camisole bodice.
