Description
Fifteen Miss Kansas City 1975 contestants line up on stage in Pierson Auditorium on the Volker campus of the University of Missouri-Kansas City in front of gold print drapes and letters on the drapes that spell "Miss Kansas City." Only the sleeve is visible of the contestant farthest to the left who is almost completely out of the photograph. The contestant, Debbie Watts, to her left wears a puffed short-sleeved white floral evening gown with a white ribbon around the empire waistline and ruffles around the round collar. To her left, the contestant Peggy Ramsey wears a white sleeveless jersey evening gown with a scoop-neckline. To her left, the contestant Galen Everhart wears a long-sleeved, ankle-length gray dress with a wide, white collar and cuffs and a large burgundy bow tied below her chin. To her left, the contestant Carol Stauffer wears a white, pink, lavender, and light blue floral, sleeveless evening gown with a crew-neckline and normal waistline. To her left, contestant Traci Lenigan wears a pink, long-sleeved, empire waistline evening gown with a turtle neck and feather around the cuffs. To her left, the contestant Lorna Brotherton wears a mint green evening gown with long sleeves and a lace inset empire waistband, square-neckline, and a ruffle about 12 inches from the floor around the skirt of the dress. To her left the contestant Janet Bell wears a periwinkle blue sleeveless evening gown with a halter neckline that is drawn around the waist with a matching wide waistband. To her left, the contestant Colette Raether wears a white sleeveless evening gown with a normal waistline and where the bodice is gathered at the neck with a turtleneck collar. To her left, the contestant Jane Hawkins wears a light blue long-sleeved evening gown with sequined inset empire waistline and a sequined turtle neck collar. To her left the contestant Denise Debusman wears a dark, long-sleeved evening gown with a v-neck. A microphone on stage is visible between her and the contestant to her right. The backs of heads of a seated audience is visible at the bottom of the photograph.
