Description
During the Raytown Miss America 1971 Pageant, Teresa Mohr the new Miss Raytown, looks down and smiles as she adjusts her crown with her right hand as she holds a bouquet of red roses and greenery in her left arm. She wears a crown and a white, sleeveless evening gown with black-piped ruffles down the center of the bodice and the skirt and white gloves just over the elbow. The left side of Charleen Shepherd is visible to Teresa's left slightly out of the picture wearing a crown, an evening gown with a black and white checkerboard bodice and a skirt of black and white panels, and elbow-length white gloves. She is adjusting the left shoulder of her dress. Three other contestants wearing evening gowns (17, 15, and 8) are visible behind Teresa and Charleen. It is dark in the back. The top of one audience member's head is on the bottom of the photographer.
