Description

During the Raytown Miss America 1971 Pageant, Teresa Mohr the new Miss Raytown, gets a kiss from Charleen Shepherd who is wearing a crown, an evening gown with a black and white checkerboard bodice and a skirt of black, white, and gray panels, and elbow-length white gloves. Charleen bends to give Teresa a kiss on her right cheek. She holds the back of Teresa's head with her right hand and holds the stems of a bouquet of red roses and greenery she is holding in Teresa's right arm. Teresa's eyes are closed as she smiles and holds her crown on her head with her left hand. Teresa wears a white, sleeveless evening gown with her contestant number ribbon (6) attached to the left side of her dress. A white sash can be seen hanging down between the two with the dark letters "YTOWN" on it. There is another contestant behind them in a pink dress. Parts of audience members can be seen all around them.
