Jim Pritchett, masters of ceremonies, wears thick black plastic eyeglasses, a double-breasted navy blue suit jacket with gray trousers, a denim blue shirt with an apricot, light blue, and red/orange striped necktie, holds a microphone in his right hand as he stands to the right of Miss America. Pam Eldred, Miss America 1970, laces her fingers together and looks slightly to her right as she wears a crown, a corsage, and a sky blue, scoop-neck, evening gown with silver baubles around the collar and waistline and a pleated skirt, silver dangle earrings, and white gloves that extend above the elbows during the Miss America Preliminary Contest, Oak Park High School in Kansas City, Missouri.
