Description
Contestants 13 through 11 stand on stage in evening gowns during the Miss America Preliminary Contest, for Miss Raytown 1973 held at Raytown South High School in Raytown, Missouri. Farthest to the left, Mary Muehleback (13) wears an aqua, long-sleeved, turtleneck evening gown. The bodice is white with white lace sleeves and aqua ruffles outlining the cuffs, collars, button placard. The buttons, skirt and belt are aqua. The satin ribbon belt is tied in a large bow just below the bodice. A large ruffle is around the bottom of the skirt. To her left, Janice E. Murray (12) wears an aqua, long-sleeved, turtleneck evening gown with floral ruffles outlining the keyhole bodice, empire waistline, collar, and cuffs. To her left, Kathleen York (11) wears a white, v-neck, sleeveless evening gown with gold bric-a-brac outlining the collar and the empire waistline and pumps. All contestants wear their blue and white contestant number ribbon attached to their gowns on their left hips.
