Description

Contestants 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 10, 17, 24, and 26 of the Miss Boating 1982 pageant stand in front of a Patricia Stevens agency banner that hangs behind them on silver lamé drapes. Their contestant cards are attached to their one-piece swimsuits on their left hips. Contestant 1 wears a red swimsuit which gathers vertically down the center of the suit and spaghetti straps. She wears taupe sandals. To her left, contestant 2 wears a navy blue, strapless swimsuit with a white stripe across the top of the bodice and down the left seam, and black pumps. To her left, contestant 7, Melanie Derr, wears earrings, a necklace of one gem, a beaded bracelet, a square-neckline swimsuit with raspberry, white, violet, white alternating stripes outlining the neckline and straps and then a raspberry bodice, and open-toed shoes. To Melanie's left, contestant 8 wears a red, v-neck swimsuit with a rainbow from right body top to low body left with a white swan swimming on the navy blue water below the rainbow, a necklace, and taupe sandals. To her left, contestant 9 wears a black swimsuit with spaghetti straps that meet in the middle of the bodice and form a "V" up to the shoulders and black pumps. To her left, contestant 10 wears a black swimsuit with spaghetti straps and stripes of aqua and pink running horizontally across the bodice and black open-toed shoes. To her left, contestant 17 wears a red v-neck swimsuit with brown sandals. To her left, contestant 24 wears a black, v-neck swimsuit with red, blue, and green piping that meet up on her left side and spread out as they cross body of the swimsuit, earrings, a small one-gem necklace, and black pumps. To her left, contestant 26 wears a red and orange striped, scoop-neck swimsuit with a red/orange ribbon tied around the waist, a wrist watch, and brown sandals. The show was held at the Kansas City Trade Mart in the downtown airport, Kansas City, Missouri. This photograph was taken at the Patricia Stevens Studio.
